The client

Wooly is a browser for children, designed first for tablets. It is for parents who want their child to explore the web without seeing anything that has not been checked.

The project

The project is in development: a web test version is used to try out the principle, the speed and the user journey, ahead of a native app for iPad and then Android. Every page is read before it appears: text is checked against a French, Dutch and English lexicon, every image is analysed by a model running on the device, and anything doubtful stays hidden. Parents set up their space in two minutes, choose between a list of sites and the checked web, and answer the child's requests when a page is closed. The child's interface stays simple, with search, suggestions to get started and access to helpline numbers.

What the product does

  • Text and images checked on the device before display
  • Two modes: a list of sites or the checked web
  • Parent space protected by a code
  • Access requests sent to the parent
  • Counters without browsing history
  • Helpline numbers available to the child
